The principals of New Atlantic have over 30 years of combined experience in development and have completed some of the area's most innovative affordable housing and mixed-used development projects. They have a very successful track record, and are known for their ability to solve complex physical, financial and legal problems which would otherwise make a project infeasible.
Peter Roth, President
Peter Roth started New Atlantic Development after gaining a wealth of experience in community development, housing and adaptive re-use. Trained at MIT in architecture and real estate development, he has national experience in the area of industrial redevelopment, and has focused most recently on urban mixed-income housing and adaptive re-use. In addition to his development activity, Peter Roth teaches in the Master's degree program in Real Estate Development at MIT, and serves on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations. He is the currently chair of the Boston Preservation Alliance, a non-profit education and advocacy organization commited to preserving Boston's unique sense of place.
Bill Madsen Hardy, Vice President
Bill Madsen Hardy is a real estate development and urban planning specialist with a strong background in affordable housing, market analysis, adaptive re-use and economic development. His experience prior to coming to New Atlantic included managing development projects for a non-profit CDC in Cambridge, Massachusetts and as a planning and development consultant in Detroit, Michigan. He has managed the development of nearly 700 units of affordable and mixed-income housing and several commercial/retail properties. His chief responsibility at the company is to oversee the financing and legal aspects of each project as well as managing the business affairs of New Atlantic and its many subsidiaries.
Brian Goldson, Director of Construction
Brian Goldson was trained in architecture at Roger Williams University. He brings ten years of experience in architecture and construction management to New Atlantic Development. He has worked in all aspects of housing, including assisted living and affordable housing; historic tax credit projects are an area of particular expertise. Brian Goldson oversees both the contractor and the architect in his role as Director of Construction.
Lora Tomita, Assistant Project Manager
Lora Tomita has worked on affordable housing policy and development in government, non-profit, private and academic settings. She holds a degree in economics and worked for the City of San Diego Planning Department before joining New Atlantic. Lora assists the company principals in the coordination and management of projects from conception through construction, sale or lease.
Margaret Kruse, Office Administrator
Margaret Kruse serves as New Atlantic's Office Administrator and is responsible for maintaining the books for New Atlantic and all of its subsidiaries. She also handles payroll, employee insurance plans, investment plans, and provides general support to the company principals.
