Church Square

New Atlantic, in partnership with the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, purchased the 3.2 acre Blessed Sacrament campus along Centre Street in Jamaica Plain in December 2005 for redevelopment.   The first phase includes the following distinct projects:

  • 35 Creighton Street Residence
  • Centre-Creighton Apartments
  • Creighton Condominium
  • Centre Street Retail

The program proposed for the redevelopment project aims to maintain the architecturally significant buildings on the campus, while adding carefully considered new structures that achieve an appropriate mix of uses to enhance and strengthen the adjacent neighborhoods.  The campus will ultimately contain a mixed-income community of limited-equity cooperative apartments, for-sale condominiums, and SRO housing for very low income individuals together with indoor and outdoor community space, educational and office uses, and new community-oriented retail along Centre Street.   Construction began on the first phase of redevlopment in September 2008.
